Access the SMSF Masterclass recording
The SMSF Masterclass recording, access to the case study, additional supporting resources, and any assessment are available for our CPD subscribers and those who have purchased the masterclass recording via PAYG.
You may have attended the SMSF Masterclass live-streamed event or purchased the SMSF Masterclass recording, a separate email containing your login details will be issued to you. For any existing CPD subscribers, simply use your Smarter SMSF Platform login.
Please note that if you have purchased a copy of the SMSF Master recording, you have one month's access from the date of purchase. If a time extension is required, please contact us using the details at the end of this guide.
Three SMSF Masterclass events take place throughout the year and are included, forming part of the CPD Regular or CPD Business subscriptions.
You can click on the link within the email to log in and access the course and support materials, or you can access the course at any time from the Smarter SMSF Platform by following the instructions below:
1. Goto to the Smarter SMSF website: https://smartersmsf.com/, then from the top of the screen menu select 'Login' and then 'Platform Login'.
2. Enter your login details and click on the 'Log In' button.

3. You are now logged into the Smarter SMSF Learn Platform and have arrived at the main Dashboard. To enter the Smarter Learning Suite, select 'Learn' from the left menu and then 'Masterclasses', or click the 'View Masterclasses' button.
4. The landing page opens, scroll down this screen to view the SMSF Masterclasses.
5. Confirmation of the SMSF Masterclasses is available to commence, click the 'Continue Study' button.
The Welcome Screen
You have arrived at the Welcome screen. There is a short video to watch presented by Aaron Dunn. If you have any questions during your time working through the course materials, there is support you can access via email at: support@smartersmsf.com.
In this example, we are demonstrating the SMSF Annual Compliance Masterclass.
Both Aaron Dunn and Tim Miller help you navigate through the topics of redefining the superannuation life cycle.
How to commence and access to support materials
The SMSF Masterclass contains a combination of video-based training, with audio and written materials for you to work through. Students will also be required to complete the CPD assessment within the 2 content parts. Recognition of 4.0 CPD hours will be provided with a certificate issued upon completion and is accepted by all the major accounting bodies (CPA, CAANZ & IPA), the SMSF Association and Tax Practitioner’s Board (TPB), and ASIC.
You are able to access a range of support materials within each of the Masterclass 2 main content parts, including slides, the case study, the workbook and any activities.
6. To enter click the radio button 'SMSF Annual Compliance Masterclass - Part 1' or the relative course content.
SMSF Annual Compliance Masterclass - Part 1 opens and there are several areas of navigation. You will arrive at the default 'Lesson' tab.
You will also notice an 'IN PROGRESS' display on the right of your screen indicating you are working through the content Part and how far you have progressed with a '% completed'. You can use the 'Play' button to start and stop the recording playback.
Before you start watching the SMSF Masterclass, we recommend you download the case study and activities within the 'Materials' tab.
7. Click the 'Materials' tab.
8. The 'Materials' tab provides access to download the Case study & activitiesor download the Masterclass slides.
9. You can download to Save a copy in PDF format or Print.

10. After saving the support materials, click the 'Lesson' tab and then the 'Play' button to commence the Masterclass recording.
The running time for each of Part 1 and Part 2 is approximately 1.30hrs.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you leave either Part 1 or 2 your progress is not automatically saved. Upon your return to Part 1 or 2, you are greeted with a message asking if you would like to resume.
When you have reached the end of either Part 1 or 2, it’s a good idea to review the Case study & Activities and any other supporting resources and links that were provided. You will also see a 'Mark Complete' in the middle of your screen. This indicates you have reached the end of the slides and recording. After you have reviewed the course materials, you can attempt the CPD quiz questions.
The '66% COMPLETE' indicates you are yet to receive a pass for the CPD quiz questions, although you have completed viewing the slides and recording.
You will also notice the completed Course Content indicated by the green tick and the Mark Complete green button.
11. When you are ready, you can complete the CPD assessment. The easy way to navigate is to click on the 'SMSF Annual Compliance Masterclass 2023' wording just below the Smarter SMSF symbol.
12. Click the link from the menu to access the CPD quiz, 'SMSF Annual Compliance Masterclass 20233'.
You have a set number of questions that must be answered within 20 minutes. You must achieve an 80% pass mark for the CPD assessment and have 2 attempts to pass.
13. Click the 'Start Quiz' button when you are ready.

14. Click the 'Next' button to move to the next question.
15. Once you have answered each question, click the ‘Finish Quiz’ button. The results will be provided in a few moments. You can select the 'Restart Quiz' button if you have not successfully passed the CPD assessment quiz.
Once the results have been calculated and you have reached the 80% score, congratulations you have successfully passed the CPD quiz.
16. Click the 'Click Here to Continue' button.
17. If you have earned a certificate, click the 'Download Certificate' button.
18. You can download to Save a copy in PDF format or Print.
