Fixing errors in a company incorporation
In the event that an error is identified in a company order that has already been submitted to ASIC, you do have the option to amend it.
If you have identified this error within 24 hours, you may be able to make an amendment by contacting ASIC by telephone on 1300 300 630 or +613 5177 5407 (outside of Australia) to fix items such as typographical errors or misspelled words. Most other requests will need to be completed through the Form 492 – Correction Request.

Amendments that are not accepted by ASIC over the telephone (e.g. within 24 hours) can be completed by preparing and submitting a Form 492 – Correction Request.
In the event that an error is identified following the submission of a company incorporation order to ASIC, you have the option to amend it.
What does ASIC Form 492 require?
The ASIC Form 492 requires:
- Company name / ACN (“Australian Company Number”)
- Details of correction
- Details of the original document – form number e.g. Form 201 if a new company and date
- Lodging party details
- Dated and signed by a director or Company Secretary
You can lodge this form electronically (e.g. ASIC portal, CAS 360, Now Infinity), or alternative post a paper form to:

Please note that it may take up to 28 days for ASIC to process your correction request. Once the request has been processed, the corrected information will be updated on ASIC's public register.
