User Management - The Users tab

The Users tab

User Management lets you control who in your team, linked to your document subscription, can be provided access to various functions within the Smarter SMSF platform. There are three tabs. 'Users, Credit Card, and Add / Remove User'. This article covers the Users tab — your team directory and where you can set each person's permissions.

1. To access, sign in to your Smarter SMSF account.

2. From the 'App Switcher', select 'Admin Console', then from the left-hand menu, 'User Management V2'.

3. The screen opens on the default 'Users' tab.

Important: Access to User Management V2 is only available to the 'Main Account Holder' of the document subscription, and (optional) to the 'Nominated Administrator' if one is appointed by the Main Account Holder. All remaining team members are required to be provided with the designation of 'Default Team Member ' before being given individual permissions. You can't have two Main Account Holders selected. If you need a second person with the same day-to-day control, you can make them a 'Nominated Administrator'.

A few extra items worth noting before you start:

  • Access is tiered. The Main Account Holder sits at the top, a Nominated Administrator sits one level down, and remaining users are team members with allocated permissions.
  • Changes are saved per team member. Permissions are saved one person at a time using the Save Permissions button in their panel.

Viewing, applying and changing permissions

1. Click to select a team member and, under the 'PERMISSIONS' heading, click the 'View Permissions' button.

The panel expands to display all the User Permissions options.

2. Click 'Hide Permissions' to close.

The permissions

The Main Account Holder can select a Nominated Administrator, a second-level user/team member who can access all functions and act as a backup to the Main Account Holder. This can be useful for an administrator who reviews saved document orders created by team members who are not ready to submit document orders.
