1.1 - Lump Sum

This form as part of the migration across to the new document platform has been updated with a number of key changes, including:

  • Removal of the death benefit lump sum option - a new form is currently being created, similar to what has been done with the Death Benefit Super Income Stream
  • We have added a number of additional NIL condition of release options - permanent disability & terminal medical condition.
  • We have added restricted condition of release options - compassionate grounds and severe financial hardship, with explanations that support the super laws restrictions on these lump sum amounts
  • An increase in the number of in-specie assets to transfer as part of the lump sum - increased from 4 to 10 assets, and now includes a schedule within the trustee meeting and trustee notification to the member.

1.2 - Order form migration to new document platform

The following is an update on order forms being migrated to the Docs 2.0 platform:

  • LRBA loan facility agreement (related party) - completed
  • Death Benefit Lump Sum (new) - WIP
  • Investment Strategy Review Statement - WIP

Please note that over the coming weeks, we will be making a significant change to platform login process - removing the current login from https://app.smartersmsf.com to a new https://sso.smartersmsf.com.  This revised process with incorporate the multi-factor authentication process, then a new splash page to allow you to choose which part of the Smarter SMSF platform that you want to login to - documents, CPD & education, Admin console or Support.

You can watch the recent Smarter SMSF update to understand this change further,

  • 54:13 - Docs 2.0 platform update
In redesigning the login process to the platform, we will be updating the new document platform with all available documents on the Smarter SMSF platform and by default upon login you will be ordering from the new document platform.  Whilst we continue to review and migrate forms, some of the ‘Order Now’ buttons will redirect you back (via SSO) to the old platform to complete the order - e.g. Member's Fund Guardian, takes you back to the specific order order to complete via SSO.

This is part of the next stage in migrating to the new document platform and decommissioning of the current version.  We believe that the above change will improve the speed of the current login process and overall ordering of documents.

2.1 - CSV import

We are excited to release our CSV import function that can be used to import data from external softwares to use for the fund establishment process, along with undertaking SMSF deed updates, including for bulk updates.

A number of knowledge base articles have been created to help understand how the CSV import function works within the new document platform:

You can also refer to our recent Smarter SMSF update for a demonstration of the features of the new CSV import function:

2.2 - Ability to upload amended orders

Where Smarter SMSF makes manual changes to a document, such as adding an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPoA) as a signatory to a document, or including deed clauses to remove an employer sponsor, Smarter SMSF can now upload this amended and final order back onto the completed orders page of the user and will replace the previous order that was generated on the platform.

This importance of this 'backend' enhancement to the platform is that it ensures that you have access to the correct documents via the platform, rather a link that will be to the completed order before any final amendments were made to the order.
